Ahmet Ibrahim[email protected]26-30RailPlanning and Performance Engineer (actively transitioning into a leadership role)Hello Bill! It's Ahmet. Hard to encapsulate everything I would like to share in a single text box. I currently work at Lanes Group Limited. On paper I am responsible for contractual reporting and programme planning - but that's a fraction of what I actually am depended on within my team. My biggest struggle is with direction - I joined Lanes Group Limited with the transparent intention to leave in the near future and pursue my aspirations of working within the video game industry. 3-years later, the culmination of both great success and personal difficulties led me to a current state of comfortable purgatory where my work is manageable but unfulfilling. Your kind invitation to share invaluable career advice perfectly timed with the same week I booked annual leave to reflect on my career and plan for my next steps forward. I intent to begin some serious heavy lifting and would appreciate the hour your are offering, to discuss all the things you wish you have the chance to speak to someone about. Ultimately, the major thing you should consider is that I do not have a defined direction yet - which is stifling my progress. I guess that's what I hope you would be able to provide insight into. Thanks for reading! I hope to hear from you soon.2/7/2026

Daniel Jeyaraj[email protected]31-35Construction, RailPrincipal Engineer / Design ManagerDesign Manager currently overseeing a team of coordinators responsible for BWIC works at Old Oak Common. Recently went permanent with Egis, and have become aware that I'm over achieving, delivering well, and managing the client in a manger which has brought about a lot of praise personally. I want to learn how to take the next step, as it appears to be in the direction of stepping up to a variant of the Technical Director role. I'd like to understand how to sell myself for the next promotion, and the type of salary I should be demanding.2/3/2026
Thomas Johnson-Watts[email protected]26-30Construction TechnologyProduct Manager | Civil EngineerI spent seven years as a Civil Engineer, and once I achieved my goal of becoming a Chartered Engineer, I realized I wanted a different trajectory. I was looking for a career in tech that offered more room for growth, better compensation, and a modern lifestyle, but I wanted to move strategically. Rather than starting from zero, I chose the ConTech space. It allowed me to leverage my years of domain expertise while learning the "craft" of tech, with the long-term goal of keeping my options open to move into different sectors later. I saw a clear parallel between civil engineering and Product Management, and that's the path I pursued. After four months of intensive searching and a variety of approaches, I landed a PM role at SiteAssist. We are a platform helping contractors digitize site operations—giving them the control and visibility that was missing when I was in the field. I’ve been here for 20 months now and am well-established. The Business Context: The Team: 35 people, 6 years old, and growing. The Valuation: Currently estimated at £40M, with a target exit of £200M. The Reality: I believe we have a few years of very hard work ahead to hit that valuation, and I’m right in the thick of it. My construction background has been a "superpower" here. It helps me win over clients, translate their requirements into features, and drive the business strategy. After my first year, I successfully advocated for myself to move my salary up from a low starting point and secured a share of equity. Why I’m seeking mentoring now: I feel like I’m standing in front of a lot of open doors. Within SiteAssist, there is a path to becoming a leader, building out the platform, and increasing my stake. Outside, I see possibilities ranging from joining other high-growth firms to eventually starting my own business. I’m genuinely excited about the next few years, but I want to ensure I’m moving in the right direction. Given your experience, I believe your mentorship would be incredibly valuable as I navigate these options and work toward that next level of professional and financial growth.2/3/2026
